The proposed Sky Lift service has the potential to offer recreational rides a World Class uplift service. This would offer visitors access to gravity trails and provide a year round customer base for the chair lift operator.

POTENTIAL INTEREST IN A MOUNTAIN BIKE UPLIFT SERVICE

The Red Hill Riders Mountain Bike Club carried out an online survey to gauge the potential interest in a mountain bike uplift service.

(1600 people replied to this initial survey in late 2014)

MAIN BENEFICAL OPPORTUNITIES PROVIDED BY UPLIFT SERVICE

 

  • Year round amenity value

  • Give families and mixed fitness level cyclists the chance to enjoy gravity trail riding. Park at the bottom - Ride the course back down again.

  • Provide an opportunity for a National Downhill competition

  • Attract substantial funding to develop a dedicated downhill track

  • Extend the 'attractiveness' of the Peninsula as a cycling destination

Mountain bikes are normally carried on external simple racks
